| Our Language Assistants |
My name is
Laura Ruiz de Calatrava and I come from Córdoba, a city in the
south of Spain. I have been working at Elliott for the past 4 years
as the Spanish Assistant.
I really enjoy
it because I have the opportunity to work with small groups of
students, or in one to one lessons where students can improve
their speaking skills. It is very gratifying for me seeing the
progress the students make.

My name is
Lisa-Maria Bornemann. I’m from Erlangen, a city in the south of
Germany, about fifteen miles north of Nuremberg. I’m a student of
English and Italian Literature at Friedrich-Alexander University in
Erlangen-Nuremberg.
I’m the German
language assistant at Elliott. It is my job to encourage pupils to
speak German instead of merely writing it. I mainly work with small
groups of pupils, setting them exercises that will help them use the
language. I hope to make them more confident in speaking German.

My name is
Ophelie Gougnard, I’m 20 years old and come from La
Rochelle, a seaside town in the south west of France. Last year, my
university suggested to me that I apply to become French assistant
in England. So here I am the French assistant at Elliott!
I am finding
the role very interesting, I think it will be a good experience for
me to improve my English and in turn improve the French of Elliott
students! I’m very pleased to be in London and one day may be a
French teacher myself.

My name is
Yohann Doppia and I am the
Comenius
Assistant at Elliott this year.
I come from
Brittany, which is a region located on the northwest coast of
France, and more precisely from Lorient which is literally 5 minutes
away from the sea.
I have just
graduated from university with a degree in English language,
literature and civilisation and I am very happy to be working at
Elliott this year! I aim to help students by giving them the
opportunity to converse with a native speaker, improving their oral
comprehension, giving them the confidence they need to do well in
their exams.
