| Each student's
practical and experimental skills are assessed throughout the course,
this contributes 20% towards the final grade.
At the end of each module there are
end of topic tests which contribute 25%. The final examination
contributes the remaining 55%.
Students who are expected to get
higher levels are selected to take extension papers. Students who
successfully complete the study of 6 modules will receive one GCSE
certificate in science. Students who successfully complete 12
modules will receive two GCSE certificates.
