Physical Education at Elliott

PE AT KS3

During key stage 3, pupils become more expert in their skills and techniques, learning how to apply them in different activities. They will discover what makes an effective performance and how to apply these principles to their own and others' work. They learn to take the initiative and make decisions for themselves about what to do to improve performance. They start to identify the types of activity they prefer, and take a variety of roles, such as leader and official.

The programme of study at Elliott include:

  • dance activities;
  • games activities;
  • gymnastic activities;
  • swimming activities;
  • athletic activities.

PE KIT AT ELLIOTT

The school PE Kit consists of a grey Elliott T-shirt, grey/black tracksuit bottoms, training shoes or football boots and a grey Elliott sweatshirt (optional). For football, rugby and hockey it is recommended that shin pads be worn. In order to maintain good standards it is important that correct kit be worn for every lesson.

ASSESSMENT AT KS3

Assessment takes place at the end of each unit of work.  This includes continual assessment throughout the unit as well as a final formal assessment lesson.
