written under supervised conditions.
Prior Learning & Progression
All students of all abilities have a sound foundation from Key Stage
Three to build upon. However, the course will particularly appeal to
students who have enjoyed the geographical enquiries and assessments
set in Years 7-9 and those who have a keen interest in global issues
such as housing, the environment and development.
The Future
The Geography course will lay an excellent foundation for those that
may wish to study Geography at ‘A’ Level standard. In addition, it
will provide essential skills such as numeracy, ICT, decision making
and problem solving. These will be of great use in other courses and
in future employment. Indeed Geography will open many career paths
such as general management, engineering, town planning, civil
service and tourism.
This course offers students the ability to be examined at the end of
each year and to be taken on either a short course or full course.
