KS3 Geography at Elliott

 

The Course

 

 

 

 

Geography is a National Curriculum subject. There is one attainment target called Geography. The Programme of study includes:

Geographical Skills: the use of maps on a variety of scales, globes and atlases; the collection and presentation of data including fieldwork and IT skills.

Places : the study of two countries as well as the United Kingdom; their physical and human features, regional differences and level of economic development.

Physical geography - the study of natural processes, landforms, weather, natural hazards and ecosystems.

Human geography - the study of global population, settlement and economic activities like farming, industry and transport.

The course is organised into half-termly units or investigations using a variety of resources and teaching methods. Pupils are encouraged to develop study skills such as decision making and research as well as being encouraged to show responsibility towards the community and environment.
