Antony and Cleopatra

Antony and Cleopatra is the story of a doomed love between a great soldier and a beautiful woman.

 

Antony is a successful Roman general who, according to his followers, has been reduced to a 'strumpet's fool' by his love for Cleopatra.

 

The play examines the conflict between love and duty as the two lovers in the early days of the Roman Empire.

Othello

Othello, a successful black general in the pay of the city of Venice, has married Desdemona against the wishes of her father. More importantly he has offended the villainous Iago by not promoting him.
