Introduction to the Language College
Languages taught at Elliott School include French, German, Spanish,
Russian and Japanese. Our large department is well resourced with our
own suite of rooms and a multimedia room equipped with computers and
interactive whiteboards dedicated to language work. ICT forms an
integral part of our teaching and we are well equipped with software.
We currently have four language assistants. We work together
with seven local primary schools teaching Geography in French and we run
masterclasses for pupils
after school teaching a variety of languages such as Catalan and Arabic.
The department also works closely with other secondary schools as well as
teacher training institutions and Voluntary Service Overseas (VSO).
We have many successful links with schools in Europe and run a number of
exchange trips and visits. Further afield we work with schools in
Burkina Faso and Finland.
The language department at Elliott is constantly developing with new
initiatives and establishing an excellent learning environment for
students.
