BEGINNERS ARABIC CLUB

Arabic is one of the fastest-growing languages of study in Western countries and is spoken by more than 200 million people worldwide.

Although Arabic is not a simple language, learning it can still be enjoyable and interesting for students.

We would like to give all students the opportunity to attend an after school beginners Arabic Club, which will start on Thursday 4th February 2010.

A meeting will be held with Mr Rickwood after school on Monday 1st February in room 96, where any queries you may have before the course starts on Thursday 4th can be answered.

    Parla italiano?

Starting on Tuesday 2nd February 2010 we will be offering our students an after school Italian course, the Certificate in Business Language Competence (CBLC). The CBLC course was developed to meet the needs of business. It is a valid and sought-after qualification in the world of business.
The CBLC Entry Level course is for beginners in the language and will provide a good basic knowledge of Italian and leads to a CBLC qualification. It is suitable for complete beginners or those with a very limited knowledge of Italian. The main emphasis will be on understanding and speaking the language, but some time will be spent on reading, e.g. signs and notices and on simple writing tasks. The aim is to enable students to communicate in simple terms in practical situations when visiting the country, e.g. ordering meals, using public transport, shopping etc.
The course will be open to all students and will take place in room 102 from 3.15 – 4.15 each Tuesday. Please come and see Mrs Jones in the Languages office to reserve your place on the course.
