The History course at
Key Stage 3 is intended to develop students' abilities in five key
areas:
1) Chronology
2) Range and depth of
historical knowledge and understanding
3) Interpretations of
history
4) Historical enquiry
5) Organisation and
communication.
These key elements
are closely related and are developed through the following study
units:
Year 7 - The Roman
Empire, Medieval Realms (1066
-1500), Islamic Civilisations (7th to 16th
Centuries).
Year 8 - The making
of the United Kingdom (1500-1750);
Britain 1750-1900
Year 9 - The Twentieth Century World. |
