A message from our Interim Headteacher.
Welcome to Elliott School’s web-site.
I have been the interim headteacher since
June 1st 2009, and will remain here until a new
headteacher is in place, which will probably be early 2010.
Although I’ve only been in post a short time,
the very special characteristics of Elliott are clear to me.
It is a warm, friendly school, proud of its heritage as a
high-achieving inclusive school, and of its reputation for
excellence in all the arts. It is also an innovative,
creative school, with a very committed staff who work hard
for the students in their care.
The Sixth Form is particularly successful.
Attainment is in the top 5% of the country, and it regularly
sends large numbers of students to prestigious universities.
One of the things which has struck me about
Elliott is how spacious it is. As well as large
grassed areas for students to play on, there are the most
wonderful views over London.
Like all Wandsworth schools, Elliott is part
of the ‘Building Schools for the Future’ scheme, and plans
are well-developed to remodel and modernise the school.
This will not, however, change the external ‘look’ of the
school, because Elliott is a Listed Building, and the school
has been working closely with English Heritage to ensure the
retention of its essential 1950’s style and appearance
I hope that you enjoy your exploration of
this web-site, and that it gives you a flavour of this
vibrant, engaging school.
